As with all translation there is no perfect equivalent. The Japanese concept of “mono no aware” evokes not only notions of ephemerality and transience, but of the beauty and pathos we are able to glimpse in the fleeting nature of things.
Asymptotic turns of smoke. A melancholy for the indentations of the pit on the peach. The feeling of walking out on the street in front of a theater — still — you carry the images.

We have refined our identity without relying on logos; designing with restraint. An earthy wax, a pop of color. Labels that disappear into the background — subtle and intentional. Our packaging is 100% recyclable, a small reflection of our desire to leave as little behind.
MAR MAR Los Angeles is partnered with Collective Altadena to raise funds in support of those impacted by the Los Angeles wildfires of January 2025. Beyond immediate relief, we hope this effort contributes to education and long-term infrastructure that can help prevent future devastation.
